With our human skin body extension we create a dialog between the wearer, observers and their sense of time. Encoded into the artificial wrinkles of SKINESCENCE is a a message so deep to the hearth of the wearer that only he knows. But these wrinkles not only have the ability to passively display data, they also react to their surrounding like shivering when a cold breeze touches your body.
With the development of SKINESCENCE we gave the wearers a new form of expressing themselves. It creates a new way of embracing where you are coming from and where you are headed in life. Through this conversion we explore a new form of discussing ones life trough body and mind.
When creating a new SKINESCENCE the owner can choose what underlining data is embedded in their wrinkles. This can range from a one-line poem to their complete DNA. An AI script than creates the wrinkles which are 3D printed and then transferred onto the artificial skin.
Our embodied skin is made out of multiple layers of latex and can move up and down a full spectrum of wrinkling. Fused into it are artificial veins which actuate the skin and bring it through movement to life. In that sense the skin reacts to its surrounding and shivers whenever another soul of importance is close.
