Materials & Machines

We tested material for two days and tried to use skin as a model. While trying out, we tried to combine flexible and elastic materials.

We have tested these materials, for example: Gibs, wax, gelatine, plastic foil, pancakes, soap, glue.

We did not find the right material here yet. Since it must be flexible enough to move but also stable enough to form folds.

Wax

Gelatine, glue and soap

Pancakes - We tried to give the pancake a pleated structure.

They are elastic but they tear apart with time, so they will not be optimal for our project.

Plaster, gelatine and plastic foil - The material can be easily heated by rubbing and then it becomes liquid again. It also feels similar to the skin of an old woman.

We have attached a cord on the back and can now make wrinkles stronger.
