This week we made many tests with latex. We also wanted to go to the limits of latex and see how it behaves when we inflate or distort it. We also tried to finalize the concept. We also talked again about the mechanics, at the moment there are different motors or a pump to choose from and we tested them this week.

More material test:

we have tested even more latex. How we can combine it, because pure latex gets knotted when you fold it, so we also tried to insert nets. We also tried to make the structure with human hair look more like human skin. But the hair just looked disgusting and has pierced holes in the latex. It did not help the structure so we continue without hair.

mechanical test:

If you twist it too much, the flour dissolves and the latex sticks together, which is bad because you cannot get it out of each other. The material is unfortunately not so durable.

Inflating the latex went quite ok, you can glue it airtight. However, when inflated there is only the status empty or full and that is too little for us.

We used the black board to review all the topics we ever discussed regarding the concept. It was also about the mechanics that could be made up of motors or a pump, but we still don't quite agree on that either. We are all still convinced about the topic "aging" but we can't really grasp it at the moment. We would still like to combine it with a kind of second skin and with wrinkles. But we are still trying to give these ideas a concept that is a bit more profound and not just superficial.
