This week is all about planing our final performance.

We then iterated our concept and want to put the ritual participant in relation to something larger. Something as big as the earth and the nature around us. There should be an exchange between man and environment in which we make the environment around us tangible in a different way. Through the vibrations in the earth and the temperature exchange.

The figure below shows seismic waveforms of the last 24 hours recorded at seismic stations in Zurich. In contrast to the shorter time windows in which data with high sampling rates are shown, only one data point per second is shown here. Furthermore, only vertical broadband stations of the CHNet channels are shown. On these down-sampled data series only the largest local earthquakes are visible, which excite waves in the low-frequency part of the spectrum. In this view, it can be seen how the teleseismic energy travels through the seismic network of Switzerland. The instrument response is deconvolved and then filtered with a bandpass filter between 100 s and 4 s. The unit is bandpass filtered ground speed, mm/s. After a manual determination is available, the P-picks (P-waves) are shown in blue and the S-picks (S-waves) are shown in green. The figure is updated every 300 s.

We translated the data from the real-time seismogram into a vibration pattern with the help of a program called Lofelt Studio. This vibration will then be perceived by our ritual participant during the ritual.

Here we thought about how we can attach the vibration input to the back

Today we did test our final Prototype. It worked really good, especially the sound of the boiling water was great but after 16 minutes when the water was almost empty it exploded. We have to control the heat a bit better during the performance.
